Bold Flavors, One Unforgettable Fusion Bowl

Vietnamese, Korean, and Asian fusion done right in Jersey City, rated 4.9 stars by hundreds of fans.

About Us

At Daikon Carrot, the menu refuses to pick a lane, and that's exactly the point. Vietnamese lemongrass pork, Hong Kong wonton soup, Korean chicken bowls, and a shrimp po'boy all share the same kitchen, the same care, and the same bold commitment to flavor. Sitting at 26 University Place Blvd in Jersey City, this is the kind of spot that earns repeat visits not through gimmicks but through food that genuinely delivers, every time.

The 386 reviews and a 4.9-star rating aren't an accident. Regulars come back for the pork lemongrass that first hooked them, then discover the wonton soup, then can't stop thinking about the waffle fries. The menu is eclectic by design, drawing from Vietnamese street food tradition, Korean comfort cooking, and the bold sandwich culture of the Gulf Coast, all filtered through a Jersey City sensibility.

Dine in at the kiosk-ordering counter, get it delivered to your door, or let the catering team bring the whole spread to your next event. However you arrive, the food is the main character.

What We Offer

The menu at Daikon Carrot spans more ground than most restaurants dare to attempt. Start with the Hong Kong wonton soup, a broth so deep it surprised even regulars who came in expecting something simple. Move to the Korean chicken bowl, layered with heat and crunch, or go the sandwich route with a shrimp po'boy stacked the way it should be. Waffle fries round out the table like they were always meant to be there.

Beyond the dining room, Daikon Carrot offers full food delivery for nights when the couch wins, and a catering service for gatherings that deserve something more interesting than a standard spread. Whether you're feeding ten people or a hundred, the same kitchen that earns five-star reviews on a Tuesday night scales up without skipping a beat.

Ordering is fast through the in-house kiosk, making the whole experience as smooth as the flavors are complex.

"Decided to come here for an early dinner based on the many 5-star reviews and 4.8 Rating and stating I am disappointed is an understatement. Ordered at 5:10pm at the kiosk and we were the only ones in the establishment. We didn't get called until 6:05pm... almost an hour wait is unacceptable given the circumstances. We did see a couple of people coming in to pickup their takeout orders but it still doesn't justify the long wait. There was only 1 person prepping the orders. The food was lukewarm at best when we got it and at that time it has gotten more busier (6 more people standing around waiting). The K-Pop sauce that came with the Beef Bulgogi Rice they had trouble finding and when we opened the lid it was cold and not appetizing at all (see pic) and the Tokyo Street Popcorn chicken looked nothing like the menu photo (see pic). We waited so long we vaguely remembered how each menu item was supposed to be and only realized later on at home. If it wasn't for two hungry kids we would've asked for a refund and left after waiting 30 mins. We fed the kids quickly and left with the rest of the food. After reheating the food at home the tacos we actually really tasty. Sad that we couldn't enjoy it there. I trust that all those 5-star reviews had great food but my family and I'm experience was the polar opposite. I left an extra Star solely on the tacos tasting great (after we reheated it ourselves). The person prepping the food should've had more help honestly and it would have been a completely different experience."

"This is my 3rd time ordering from this place. The first time I tried the pork lemongrass, I absolutely loved it! The second time, I had it delivered and the pork was really hard. I figured it might have just been an off day, so I gave it another try. Unfortunately, the 3rd time (takeout the one in the picture), the pork was the same: very hard. The service was ok, but I know this place just opened up, so there’s definitely room to improve. I’m a little disappointed because the flavor is great, but the texture really takes away from the dish. This isn’t meant as a bad review. I really hope they can work on the pork, because it has the potential to be amazing again like the first time I had it."

"As a first-time customer, I was unsure if I would like the food here, as I can be a bit of a food snob and like to stick to my usual places. But, I felt good vibes from this place. The menu items looked and sounded like food I’d enjoy. So, I figured I’d give it a try! I ordered the Kimchi Fries, with Aïoli sauce on the side. The dish is created in front of you. The staff is friendly, attentive, and willing to answer any questions you may have. They also allow you to sample items. The Kimchi Fries were delicious. I truly enjoyed them. All of the ingredients tasted very fresh and of high quality! Additionally, the atmosphere is clean, neat, and spacious. They have restrooms for customers, which can be a challenge to find in the city. Finally, my last favorite discovery here was that there are a bunch of board games, cards, etc. for utilize during your time there! I will absolutely be back."
